John Mayer has asked ME to help him write a song

Well, actually see this story:

It seems there will be a "contest" for the best music. Of course, all I know about John Mayer is that a bunch of chicks dig his schtick and he seems to actually be a very good guitar player - though from the radio crap you never really get to hear anything beyond the simple. Not a real surprise there - most of what you get on the radio is the simple, easily digested (and forgotten), formulaic hit generators.... but that's the subject for another discussion entirely. I don't know - he kinda reminds me of a hippie version of Doogie Howser for some reason...

In other news, Baretta (Robert Blake) 's first ex-wife testified that the man with the bird tried to hire a contract killer to off her way back in 1970:

Of course she never says how she "knew" about this nefarious plot... and she's alive today, so... I'm thinking I hear sour grapes and ex-wife bitchiness here. Sure, I could be wrong.. but why now? After all this time? I call "bullshit" on this one.

On the plus side, today is my mother's birthday... which reminds me - it's already after 2pm and I haven't called yet. Damn, I'm a terrible son....

so that's all the news that's unfit to print ( *reaches for the telephone* ) and I have a few things to do so... have a great evening - I'll see what I can do to be actually entertaining tomorrow. Right now, too much work, not enough sleep, and loads of other excuses to boot.
